While an exotic beach in the far corners of the world is an exciting prospect, some of the world’s most close-to-paradise destinations are right here on America’s Gulf Coast, and the best is right along Florida’s panhandle. Its endless white-sand shores have enough beaches to keep a sunbather busy for a lifetime.

If you’ve thought about moving into a little beach town on the idyllic Florida coast, keep reading to learn more about these quaint little towns along the famous 30A Corridor.

Seaside

Seaside, Florida might be the perfect little beach town. This charming and family-friendly town has nine pavilioned beach entrances, each designed by a different Southern architect. How cool is that?

Seaside has a quaint, small-town feel but maintains a vibrant and bustling atmosphere – an impressive balance to strike. The town is designed from the ground up to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, so it’s overall very walkable.

Fun Fact: The 1998 film “The Truman Show” starring Jim Carrey was primarily filmed in Seaside.

Rosemary Beach

Like Seaside, Rosemary Beach maintains a strong sense of community and has a robust pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. But, the whole aesthetic takes a different direction from Seaside.

Rosemary Beach sports a more upscale, European-inspired architecture reminiscent of the type of homes you’d encounter in places settled by the colonial Dutch. Cobblestone streets intertwine with walking paths making this little town one of “America’s Most Romantic Small Towns” by CNN.

Fun Fact: There are no high-rises — Structures over four stories tall are not permitted.

WaterColor

A charming name for a charming town – much the same vibe as you’d find in Seaside, but with some character of its ownWaterColor, Florida features many pastel-painted houses that are a little larger (and a little newer) than those you’d find in Seaside. One leg up that WaterColor has on the older Seaside community: its inn – a popular destination for travelers and locals.

WaterColor also features one of Florida’s most picturesque coastal dune lakes — Western Lake. This little town is perfect for those outdoor enthusiasts.

Alys Beach

Known for its Instagram-worthy stark white facades, Alys Beach is a little piece of the Mediterranian right in Florida. Pulling inspiration from the Greek villages, Alys Beach offers a slow pace of life with quiet serenity.

Alys Beach is a walkable town perfect for outdoor activities and families. From community pools to restaurants and more, your family will embrace the Alys Beach oasis.

Fun Fact: Most of the houses in Alys Beach feature private, elegantly designed courtyards.
